If posing for pictures to post on Instagram can be called a “considerable talent”, it seems like half the world can get off scot free after stealing designer goods.
Yeah … you don’t even need that many followers.
Natalia Sikorska, 28, a business management student and Instagram shmodel, got a slap on the wrist after she attempted to steal a Markus Lupfer jacket, a pair of Claudie Pierlot shoes, a Pinko handbag and a silver knife from Harrods.
Although she admitted guilt, Westminster Magistrate Grant McCrostie only gave her a conditional discharge for 12 months saying:
“You are obviously a woman of considerable talents, you are obviously intelligent. Taking goods from any store, including Harrods is wrong. Your future has been put at risk by these actions. Because of the fact that you pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and you do have a potentially bright future, we will deal with this more leniently than we should have.”
She was also ordered to pay £85 (R1 500) costs and a £20 (R350) victim surcharge.
Her haul of designer goods was worth around £1 000 (R17 500), but she was stopped before she left Harrods in Knightsbridge, London.
The worst thing about it all is the “stunning” model only has 700 followers:
To be fair, her other talents include working as an interpreter now that she is based in London. She has also worked as a sales associate with variety of luxurious brands such as Saint Laurent Paris, Globe Trotter and Hugo Boss, so she clearly has a fine taste.
Oh, and she studied psychology at the University of Warsaw.
You can only imagine what the sentence would have been if she lacked “considerable talents”.
