Armed with a towel for every family member, queues made up of British and Irish tourists begin at 7:30AM sharp at the resort in Gran Canaria, Spain.
Once let loose at 8AM, the tourists run into the pool area and lay their towels down on sun beds, booking one or more for the day.
They then head back in for breakfast, returning to the beds at their leisure.
Witnessed at the four-star Servatur Waikiki in the popular resort of Playa del Ingles, hotel insiders revealed that “worst offenders were the British and Irish – and insisted Germans who have traditionally been stereotyped as the first to get their towels down are much more likely to have breakfast first and look for a sun bed afterwards,” reports Metro.
Take a look at what goes down:
Ridiculous, hey? Well, the situation eventually got so bad that staff have now been instructed to remove towels from the beds, if left empty for more than two hours.
Tourists really are the worst.
