Perhaps in your general day-to-day business you have stopped to wonder how much metered taxis fares compare to that of Uber.
Perhaps you haven’t.
Either way, out of interest’s sake Business Tech set out to compare the pricing between the two in and around the Johannesburg region:
In comparing them, we looked at the pricing as provided for in the Uber app as well as pricing quoted by three independent taxi operators in the area.
What they found was surprising, and it’s quite cool too see it in a comparison format.
Check it out:
Note: These fares are estimates only and do not reflect variations due to discounts, traffic delays or other factors. Flat rates and minimum fares may also apply.
Uber’s prices are, on average, consistently below those charged by metered taxis, and then there’s the convenience and professionalism that has helped them become so popular.
If you are yet to catch onto the trend (where have you been?), pop over here and get R150 off your first ride.
