Greg Norman, aka the Great White Shark, is perhaps most famous for his 1996 Masters meltdown.

He led the entire tournament, starting the final day at Augusta six shots clear of Nick Faldo in second.

As Sunday came to a close, he had shot a 78 and lost to Faldo by five strokes, an 11-shot turnaround that remains one of golf’s most talked about majors.

…the 62-year-old has spoken out about his decision to share the revealing snap with his near 80,000 Instagram followers.

Speaking to Sunrise hosts on Monday, the ‘Great White Shark’ said it was actually his wife that encouraged him to share the racy photo.

Greg said after a gruelling couple days of horseback riding in the Colorado Flat Top wilderness, a chilly splash was just what he needed.

‘It was a long day of riding…and it was nice to jump in,’ adding that is was his wife, Kirsten Kutner’s [below], idea to take the photograph.

Apparently she thought Greg looked attractive as he stood lakeside and washed his body.

‘She said put this up on Instagram you look hot,’ he admitted before joining the hosts in laughing at the situation.

‘That’s all the feedback you need,’ joked one of the presenters.

For once, a nude that doesn’t land the bloke in hot water.
