Not everyone is cut out for holiday letting.

Sure, hosting a friend for a couple of nights is one thing, but renting your room, apartment or home out for cash monies brings with it a whole range of challenges.

Just ask a Netherlands Airbnb host who has now been charged with attempted murder.

When hosting four South Africans, he ran into a bit of an issue when they hadn’t checked out at the set time, 11AM.

So, what did he do? He got physical:

Absolutely shocking. Sorry dude, but using physical violence is just not the way you treat your guests, let alone anyone else for that matter.

The video was posted to Instagram by Zanele Muholi‚ a South African photographer, along with this caption:

One of my friends and Inkanyiso crew members was pushed down stairs by the Airbnb owner where we stayed. He threw their belongings out … for few minutes late checkout. She collapsed and ended up in hospital. She suffered internal injuries and bruises. Am so angry with this I couldn’t even sleep. This is racism and can’t be justified… violence on black bodies as you can see in this video.

According to a Netherlands news source‚ the man‚ a 47-year-old from Amsterdam‚ was arrested, reports Times LIVE:

According to the newspaper‚ the four women had to be out of the home by 11am‚ but were still there at 1230pm[sic].

Another Netherlands news outlet‚ 9News‚ reported that the woman has been discharged from hospital with minor injuries.

Airbnb’s director of diversity and belonging, David King‚ said he and the company’s CEO Brian Chesky were attempting to contact the affected guests.

Times LIVE could not reach Muholi for immediate comment.

Of course, Twitter went off and was torn between whether or not the incident was racial. User “Floortje Bellefleur” says not, but a look at their Twitter account shows a history of defending Islamophobia and racism:

Losing your cool over a late checkout? No. Physical violence against women? No.

That’s why not just anyone can play host to strangers.
