So, you’re only now realising that you don’t have any life insurance to ensure your loved ones are well looked after if anything goes wrong.
Whether they are dependent on you or not, it would be nice to know they will be financially secure when you move on from this life.
You can either beat yourself up about not thinking about it 20 years ago, or you can get your act to together and do what you got to do in the meantime.
It’s just one of those things, so let’s talk numbers.
We popped over to 1Life and used their life insurance calculator to work out how much people of three different ages would have to pay every month to get R2 million in life insurance.
While last time we focused on people aged 30 and below, this time we went a little higher and here’s what we found.
Bear in mind, each quote also includes R100 000 disability and R100 000 dread disease cover:
50 – Male – Non-smoker for R2 million life insurance
50 – Female – Non-smoker for R2 million life insurance
45 – Male – Non-smoker for R2 million life insurance
40 – Female – Non-smoker for R2 million life insurance
Not too bad hey?
You should probably get the ball rolling on this one sooner rather than later.
We wish you a long and prosperous life, but I guess being prepared is just one of those things we all have to do.
