Below is the story as posted earlier:
Organisers of the Miss Earth South Africa beauty pageant have now filed a missing persons docket with police, with no one able to locate 22-year-old Claudi Pieterse.
The operations manager at Miss Earth SA, Georgina Cost, says she last spoke to Pieterse on June 22, and all attempts to contact her since have been unsuccessful.
Times LIVE reports:
“We were scheduled to meet in East London on Sunday June 25. I spoke to her on Thursday‚ about 5pm. Our project was starting on Monday. She requested that we book her room for an extra day as she would be arriving in East London on Sunday. That was the last I spoke to her‚” said Cost.
After failing to get through to her‚ Cost began contacting Pieterse’s “emergency numbers” which the organisation had in their books.
“I spoke to her grandmother and she said she did not know where she was. I then spoke to her brother who told me he had not spoken to her in two months but he thought she was okay‚” Cost said.
The docket was opened at the Mondeor police station in Johannesburg.
Her last tweet was sent from her account on June 22:
