Zimbabwean cops and law enforcement officials operating under Uncle Bob’s evil reign aren’t afraid to use force, justly or unjustly, and the latest video doing the rounds on social media is another example of that.

I guess the worst thing here is that the person filming doesn’t really seem too freaked out, so normalised has the institutional violence become.

It isn’t known what happened once the filming ends, but you would bet it wasn’t a happy ending for the man taking the klaps.

It’s unclear where or when the video was taken, but it has evoked anger on social media.

“Whenever and wherever this happened, it should be condemned in the strongest terms… #NoToPoliceBrutality,” tweeted @garietunhira.

Wrote Gomo Dubi on Twitter: “This is outrageous! It ought to raise citizens’ ire. Where was it shot? Disgusting.”

Writing on Facebook, former education minister David Coltart said it was “despicable conduct by the ZRP (Zimbabwe Republic Police) and should be investigated.”

Police have not yet commented on the video.

I wouldn’t wait up.

Perhaps the poor man taking a beating didn’t have the cops’ lunch money handy.
