Apparently they do exist.
Yesterday Jacob Zuma celebrated his 75th birthday with a jol in Kliptown, Soweto, and there was the usual song and dance spiel.
What was unusual, however, was the white guy who stood out like a sore thumb.
His name is Recato Eberwein, and he spoke to TimesLive:
“I am here to support my ANC‚ my president and my country‚” said Recato Eberwein‚ dressed in a yellow t-shirt depicting Zuma’s face on it.
He has been an ANC member since 2008 but has voted for them since 1999.
His birthday message to Zuma: ” I would like to wish the president a happy birthday and I hope there is many more to come and if he can adopt me‚ I would be very happy.”
Eberwein from Heidelberg said he was at the anti-Zuma marches in Pretoria earlier this morning but he was there in support of Zuma…
Eberwein said Zuma would never step down‚ adding that he “had done nothing wrong”.
I suppose that very much depends on your definition of the words “nothing” and “wrong”.
Off to Google we go, where a search of Eberwein’s name brings with it some interesting findings.
There’s a screenshot of what I assume is his earlier WhosWho page, although the current page (HERE) is a little more barren:
Ah, so he served as an ANC councillor. Someone’s singing for their supper.
We live in a democracy, and people are free to support whichever party and leader they want, but sometimes you can only shake your head.
