Normally, the last day of school is one of relief, inviting learners to do whatever they want during the period that school is closed.
But the violence in Cape Town is not normal and anyone, anywhere, at any time could become a victim.
Last week Friday, two boys were walking on the streets of Rondevlei, Mitchells Plain, when they were casually stopped and held at gunpoint.
CCTV footage of the incident found its way on to the Mitchells Plain Gangwatch page on Facebook, and shows the two boys walking along Old Trafford Road. A white Bantam bakkie stops, a man gets out, targets one of the boys, takes what he gives him, gets back in the bakkie and it drives off.
Check it:
Although no arrests have been made, people in the community are on the watch for the bakkie.
Thankfully, no one was hurt.
