Long has the “Like” button on Facebook been placed in the same category as cocaine addiction.
After all, most of us are going onto our 10-year anniversary of being on Facebook. Terrible.
Addiction to social media engagement (engagement = likes, comments, double taps and views) activates the same part of the brain that cocaine does when inhaled through a nostril.
Although studies have suggested that social addiction is a lot easier to quit than substances, many forgo the opportunity and choose to live a life which involves their face glued to their screen.
Then they wait with bated breaths for the next notification to indicate that someone, somewhere appreciates their input.
Since those studies, which focused on individual use, social media has increasingly become a platform for businesses to, well, sell themselves. Yup, advertising does indeed have its way of infiltrating everything.
But whether you’re running a business or doing things on a personal level, and have chosen the life of a social addict, you might be interested to know which times are generally the best to post – depending on your platform of choice.
