I think someone might need a bit of professional help – and soon.
Heath Ledger’s Joker has become the stuff of legends since The Dark Knight hit the scene back in 2008, although there’s a difference between donning makeup for Halloween and strolling the streets with a sword.
The latter saw 31-year-old Jeremy Putman arrested and charged with wearing a mask in public, with more below from Sky News:
In a statement, Winchester Police in the state of Virginia said they had “several calls” from members of the public about a suspicious man in a black cape and carrying a sword on Friday afternoon…
Police in Winchester, which is about 75 miles west of Washington DC, said they also wanted to “remind the community of the seriousness” of wearing a mask.
Under the state’s law, it is unlawful for anyone over 16 to wear a mask, hood or anything that hides or covers a substantial part of their face with the intent to conceal their identity in a public place.
Putman is being held at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center on a $2,000 (£1,600) secured bond.
Take a look at Putman’s effort:
If I see that chap carrying a sword in the middle of the day I’m giving him a wide berth.
Given what happened in Aurora, Colorado back in 2012, I think those calls to police are pretty justified.
