Cape Town’s drought has people on edge, some snitching on neighbours, others publicly lambasting ignorance.
Most of this has come apparent through private Facebook private neighbourhood groups, which give people the space to speak freely about everything that is wrong with everyone else.
On the other hand, they have also provided a space for some innovative DIY peeps to show their water-saving inventions, which include dustbins-turned-water-storage tanks and drainpipes being directed straight to the swimming pool – gaffer tape included.
But whatever your solution to save water has been , it’s probably quite unattractive.
I mean, I get JoJo tanks serve a massive purpose in homes and communities across South Africa, but if you lack the space, their unsightly appearance can get a little too much – so much so that many people haven’t even bothered investing in one.
But then, thanks to local eco online store sustainable.co.za, GRAF came along.
The German brand offers alternative solutions to those massive water tanks, and has created water-saving products that not only look attractive, but actually work.
Take the Water Tank with Plant Cup for example.
Storing 1 300 litres of water, you can even add a plant to the top of it:
Connecting the tank to your drain pipe using GRAF’s Speedy Rain Collector, it looks effortlessly sexy.
Then, you just add the Redendieb de Luxe Rain Collector – which acts as a filter for the water before being streamed into your water tank.
Of course, all three products can be bought and used separately from Sustainable.co.za – which is ideal.

Now you have absolutely no excuse to not have a water-saving system in your home. Seriously.
