There’s been a lot of talk about the all-new, all-electric Freeboards that you see cruising around town. I managed to get my hands on one and this is the result.
In a nutshell – it’s bloody brilliant.
I’ve been using this one for a few weeks now, and even used it to get to the Mount Nelson from Cartel House (Loop Street). The trip was a doddle and very satisfying too.
The biggest thing that struck me was how quick the journey took. I was there in five minutes or so, and had so much fun doing it.
Cruising up small inclines and adjusting my speed / applying brakes, without having to take a foot off the board, is a very pleasurable experience.
It takes four hours to fully charge and will take you up to 30kms, at speeds of up to 30 km/h. You really don’t need much more than that.
