It’s been 20 years since Trainspotting became an international sensation, Irvine Welsh’s creations running amok in Edinburgh and causing havoc at every turn.

I’m going to assume you’ve seen that little snapshot of junkie depravity, and if you haven’t it’s time you buckled down for a pretty harrowing ordeal and did so.

We’ve known the sequel, T2, has been coming for a while now, but finally we have a full-length trailer to ogle at.

Here’s what the trailer has to say:

Twenty years have gone by. Much has changed but just as much remains the same. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.
