Corruption is crippling South Africa in more ways than one.
Whether it’s using public funds for privates means or changing policies for personal interest, shit is flying.
And yesterday, during his mini budget speech, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan addressed this:
For South Africa to encourage more inclusive growth, the country faces many challenges.
In actively correcting for the injustices of the past, we have a choice between extracting privilege and wealth for the few, or wider participation and broad-based empowerment.
Public funds must not be diverted for private ends.
All citizens are entitled to demand accountability and integrity from those who serve – that includes all of us.
At least we have one person on our side.
