The most disturbing thing about Trump are the qualities he shares with Hitler. What then does it say about Zuma, when we see him displaying childlike traits similar to Donald Trump?
Just to clarify, Trump doesn’t really SHARE qualities with Hitler, he actually outdoes the monster at nearly every turn. You might have caught the Oxford study that found Trump to be MORE psychopathic than Hitler.
Back to Zuma, who still manages to put on a brave (clueless) face, even as everything collapses around him.
Just yesterday, Zuma’s response to the continuing downgrading and threat of junk status at the hands of the world’s leading rating firms, was profoundly Trump-like.
From Quartz:
“The manner in which the ratings agencies have operated so far leaves some concern to particularly developing countries and members of BRICS,” Zuma told the lower house of parliament in a televised session on Oct. 25. “You will appreciate the concentration of ratings agencies doesn’t seem to be well balanced, according to the view of BRICS.”
He’s essentially calling into question the rating firm’s methods. Companies like Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch.
Sound familiar?
It takes a special individual to consistently blame anyone and everyone else, when the problem is clearly the individual. Donald Trump has been in the headlines this last fortnight for claiming not only that the polls are rigged, but that the election itself will be rigged. Imagine that – claiming something is rigged before it happens. Extraordinary.
Obviously it won’t be rigged IF he wins.
So here we have our president, who presides over a country shrouded in political turmoil, flirting constantly with junk status, with students creating what is effectively a warzone, and an economy that just lost it’s ‘Second Largest Economy In Africa’ status, saying that the methods used to measure his country need to be fixed.
But there was more. What does Trump do after he blames the system? He points fingers and lies.
As does Number 1.
Seemingly emboldened by his economic allies and even the possibility of an alternative ratings agency, Zuma questioned why the existing ratings firms weren’t more focused on Europe, where the global economic crisis, he noted, had left many countries facing financial difficulties.
“There are no ratings agencies that visit them from time to time to rate them,” he said. “But in developing countries they come, rate, make public statements continuously.”
Obviously that last statement is a complete lie. Because, like Trump, Zuma will say anything to avoid the moment – without any thought of whether or not what he just said is true.
In fact, all three ratings firms regularly assess Europe’s credit ratings and economic outlook. They also regularly assess South Africa. Their last visit there caused quite a bit of anxiety, but Fitch, Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s all maintained South Africa’s national credit rating as stable or positive.
Another “fact” ruining another Zuma lie.
The beautiful thing about Zuma and Trump is, if Trump wins, they can all hang out at Putin’s palace. It’s quite evident that Trump is in love with Putin and Zuma’s BRICS status, means he already shares a failed alliance with Putin.
Let’s look at that alliance quickly:
BRICS is the geopolitical alliance between Brazil, Russia, India, China that was formalized in 2006 as BRIC, with South Africa joining in 2011 to add the “S.” Goldman Sachs economist Jim O’Neill first coined the catchy acronym in 2001 to describe a new economic order of emerging economies
The five economies have since failed to really tilt the global economy’s scales in their collective favor. Brazil’s economic crisis has worsened, Russia is struggling to get out of its own recession, China and India have struggled to maintain their growth rates, and South Africa’s economic struggles have been well documented.
Brilliant. These guys are a match made in heaven.
