Archbishop Desmond Tutu is a national treasure, and it’s tough not to listen to his infectious laugh without joining in.
He seems to have unlocked the key to eternal joy and happiness, a trait he shares with the Dalai Lama.
We know the two are pretty much besties, with Desmond having flown halfway across the world to celebrate his mate’s 80th birthday (HERE), and now they’re set to share their secrets with the world.
They’ve co-authored The Book of Joy, which outlines the eight pillars to happy living. A dose of brilliance below from QZ:
“He’s always teasing me,” Tutu laughs in the extract published…recalling how His Holiness likes to steal his hat. In the published extract, the Dalai Lama talks about how much he misses the ailing Tutu when the he and the other Nobel Peace Prize laureates meet.
“But when you are not there, something [is] missing, really,” said the Dalai Lama.
“Thank you. I paid him,” the Archbishop responds.
Watch this and try your best not to smile:
Bet you failed miserably.
I think we’d all do well to remember this:
The “spiritual brothers”—as they call each other—believe that people are innately good, with a deep desire to find “lasting happiness in a changing world,” according to the book’s subtitle.
Namaste.
