When 26-year-old Warriena Wright was found dead after falling from an apartment block in Australia in 2014, Gable Tostee was immediately pinned as the murderer.
After all, it was his balcony she had fallen from. Or had he pushed her over the edge?
These were the questions being asked during the trial which just went down in Australia, in which Tostee was found not guilty of murdering his Tinder date.
The main piece of evidence that saved Tostee was a recording from his phone, which was played to the court. You can read about it HERE.
Other information that came out during the trial, according to Mashable, was that:
Wright’s sister, Marreza Wright, told the court she had received two Facebook messages that night from her sibling. One said she had found “an Australian Sam Winchester,” a character from the TV show Supernatural, and the other was a selfie of Wright and Tostee.
It took the jury four days to reach a verdict.
The judgement was further delayed after it was discovered that one of the jurors had been releasing information via Instagram. Honestly.
However, the judge deemed it not serious enough to have an effect and judgement continued.
According to Tostee’s lawyer:
Mr. Tostee is very happy with the result. He looks forward to putting this behind him.
I am sure he does.
