Hey, remember Eminem?
Back in the day he was famous for his dissing skills, peroxided hair, and vomiting up his mother’s food on his sweater. He’s been quiet for a while, but in the wake of the mess that is America’s election he decided it was time to throw his name back into the mix.
Whilst announcing the impending release of a new album, he dropped the song you’ll hear below – Campaign Speech.
Turn on the closed captions for this one, just so you can follow what he’s saying. You’ll find that button on the left of the settings wheel:
Right, so the Daily Beast don’t seem all that impressed:
As far as we can tell, “Campaign Speech” is a diss track against the misogynistic, homophobic Trump, as well as the haters who malign Eminem for being a misogynistic homophobe…
Eminem and Donald Trump are both masters at stringing unrelated words together while sounding angry. What “Campaign Speech” lacks in a cohesive, political message, it more than makes up for with unlimited, far-reaching cultural references…
Unfortunately, “Campaign Speech” heads downhill quickly…Various cultural crimes aside, the rapper’s biggest career shortcoming is his inability to make a solid comeback. Like so many presidential candidates, Slim Shady fails to back up his “Campaign Speech” with real action. While Eminem may have initially promised to “dunk a bunch of Trump supporters underwater,” his eight-minute long tirade is mostly bitch jokes and bluster.
Now we wait for Trump to tweet out how the song is ‘stupid’ and Eminem is a nobody.
