Whether or not shark cage diving is for you, this is a really frightening clip.
During a session of shark cage diving near Guadalupe Island off the west coast of Mexico, a shark worked its way inside a cage.
Here’s how it happened, thanks to Gabe and Garrett‘s dad:
When a great white shark lunges and bites something, it is temporarily blinded. They also cannot swim backwards. So this shark lunged at the bait, accidentally hit the side of the cage, was most likely confused and not able to swim backwards, it thrust forward and broke the metal rail of the cage.
Just watch the situation unfold:
You were asking yourself whether there was dude in there the whole time, weren’t you?
I will never go shark cage diving. Growing up, we were told not to feed the baboons or the animals in game reserves – so why feed sharks?
For the thrill?
Well, I hope that was thrilling enough.
