It wasn’t long after Kim Kardashian’s Paris saga that dress-up supplier, Costumeish.com, featured a cheap halloween costume based on the tragic event.
For just $69.99, you could get white bath robe, mouth gag, and yellow hand ties – as well as a fake ‘$4 million dollar ring’.
Six people had bought the outfit before it was removed as an option from the site.
Alongside the costume, the description read:
She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewellery and her peace of mind.
This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of Social media.
And that’s not even the worse of it.
Amazon, of all sites, was forced to remove a “sexy burqa” Halloween costume after Muslims complained that it was offensive. It was priced at $30.
The sad truth, however, is that it takes more than the removal of offensive costumes from websites to deter people from choosing distasteful outfits this year.
Cue blackface.
