Fancy a trip to the most dangerous city in the world? Well, although Syria is pretty messed up as it is in the middle of destructive civil war, they want you – yes you – to visit.
For sure, the media constantly feeds us images of the destructive parts of Aleppo which are bombed by who ever claims the attack, but what about the other side? Isn’t it important, too?
This is clearly the thinking of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, who released a video promoting tourism to Alepp,o and the worst part about it is that the video is accompanied by an acoustic version of Game of Thrones theme song.
What a way to gain some international attention.
Uploaded to their Facebook page on Friday, the video hasn’t had that many views, but a lot of people are upset over the Ministry of Tourism ignoring the real problems. I mean, nearly 100 children were killed in the eastern part of the city since Friday.
Here’s the video:
That’s not even the weirdest part about it.
Syria’s state-sponsored news agency last week mocked the perception of Aleppo as one of the “world’s most dangerous” cities, tweeting a video of locals enjoying the city’s “thriving nightlife.”
WARNING: Turn down your headphones, the music is deafening.

I am not sure how I would feel about entering the world’s most dangerous city for a little bit of nightclubbing, but the Game of Thrones soundtrack weirdly fits into the capital’s narrative.
A little bit of Westoros right there – while one part is fighting for their lives, the other is fighting to remain in control.
