Last year, it was Scanta Paraphilia and this year’s it’s P.I.L.F, and in no way has the Romanian team behind the controversial Orthodox Calendar let its supporters down.
Featuring steamy images of hunks striking homoerotic poses surrounded by religious iconography, the annual calendar is now in its fifth edition.
P.I.L.F, by the way, stands for ‘Priests I’d Like to F*ck’ and the following images are definitely not for the religious-sensitive.
While the calendar may have a tendency to offend, the team behind it says it acts as a protest against homophobia in the Orthodox Church, to which “nearly 90 percent of Romanians belong.” It aims to rather celebrate “diversity, equality and freedom.”
Magdalena De Iona, who is the press representative for the calendar, told Huffington Post that:
The [Orthodox] church has lost its way and is desperately trying to prevent hundreds of millions of people living in modern societies that respect human rights. We’d like to think that our art could empower people to question traditional forms of authority.
This year, some of proceeds will go to a local Romanian NGO, Orasul Meu (or “My City, My Colours”), who focus on providing healthcare for disadvantaged youth.
Are you ready?
I mean, I am not religious, but yoh yoh yoh!
