Within an hour of Brangelina’s looming divorce hitting the interwebs, every single news agency reported on it. As time went by, more and more was revealed about the sad situation.
I mean, if they can’t make it, can anyone? Of course we can.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been together since 2004, marrying in 2014. On Monday, Jolie filed for divorce.
The first reason cited was over Jolie’s issue with Pitt’s parenting style. While a rumour of an affair with actress Marion Cotillard popped up, it was quickly shut down and the focus returned to Pitt’s alleged anger.
It is rumoured that it’s fuelled by a weed and alcohol “addiction” that was the final straw for Jolie. She is asking for full custody of their six children, with Pitt only getting visitation rights.
TMZ‘s “Brad” sources say it’s “a malicious lie” and that “he’s a loving and devoted father who has never and would never put his children in any dangerous situation.”
Here’s what Twitter had to say:
The sources also said Pitt is “furious” at Angelina for allegedly spinning stories that he poses a risk to their kids, because of those anger issues fuelled by weed and alcohol.
Pitt allegedly says there’s now “a bounty on the heads of the entire family,” because they’ve now become a prime target for the gaggle of paparazzi – “she’s just unleashed hell.”
But in an official statement, Pitt kept it diplomatic as one would:
I am very saddened by this but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.
Brad allegedly had conversations with Angelina over the last few days, pleading for her to handle the divorce “like adults.” He wanted to low-key it for the benefit of the kids. But did she listen? Uh uh.
Is it possible that the biggest celeb couple are going down this way? So publicly and so messily?
Then again, Jolie is a little cray.
