The story of Pablo Escobar is a well-trodden one, countless movies and books having tried to tell the story of the world’s most notorious drug kingpin.
Few cinematic attempts have captured the public’s attention like Narcos though, the Netflix series proving hugely popular during its first season.
Now the second season has been released (along with some other gems), and I’m sure there’s a few of you out there who spent this weekend in the midst of a Narcos binge.
Someone who is watching on closely is a certain Sabastian Marroquin (pictured below) , birth name Juan Pablo Escobar, who as you might have guessed is Pablo’s son.
He was pretty unimpressed with some of the errors, taking to Facebook to outline exactly where he felt the show dropped the ball.
The post can be seen in full HERE, but here’s how it begins:
Narcos 2 and its 28 chimeras.
Dear friends and friends, here I share my personal reflection of the second season, so beware of the veracity of its content.
The Tedium of to see the series can be avoided. This is why I invite those who really interested to know the real truth about my dad to read my book.
Oh yes, Sabastian is writing a book and is busy promoting it – perhaps that’s why he watched it so closely. Couldn’t his father have just hid a sack of cash somewhere and saved him all the trouble?
Anyway, back to his post:
On behalf of my country and in honor of the real truth of the incidents which took place between the 80’s and 90’s I see in the obligation to make serious mistakes of a series that claims to be as truthful, when Is a lot to be insulting, so the story of a whole nation and of so many victims and families.
From that point he lists the errors, which might contain the odd spoiler if you haven’t yet binged your way through the second season.
Head HERE for that Facebook post, or hurry up and watch every episode before someone ruins it for you.
