Wherever you are out there in the big, bad world you’re either reading this on your PC, phone or tablet – which means you know how technology works.
If you’re anything like us you love technology that makes life easier, which is why we dig it when someone pipes up and says “there’s an app for that”.
There often is, but then again that doesn’t always mean anything has been made easier. Thankfully, when it comes to ordering a cleaning service here in SA, there really is an app that makes the whole process as simple as a few taps of a screen.
We’re talking about Domestly and their game changer app, which crowned them winners of the MTN App of the Year 2016.
Domestly connects busy people to trusted and affordable background-checked cleaning professionals. Within three minutes of opening the app you can book a cleaner, for as early as the next day.
That’s awesome, but something that we really like is how the cleaners are able to set their own rates for a half day (four hours) or full day (eight hours). They also have a full profile and user reviews, giving you the chance to pick the perfect cleaner for your needs.
It’s all about convenience and finding a cleaner on the go. Maybe your regular domestic worker has fallen ill or returned home for the holidays, and finding a fill-in is something you’re too busy to devote a great deal of time towards.
Before we get stuck into the app that landed the big award we should add there is obviously a website, because some like to kick it old school, but let’s carry on for the tech-savvy.
Open Domestly, enter your location and date – I’ve gone Vredehoek and tomorrow for illustrative purposes:
Scroll through the list of available cleaners, select your preferred option and book.
See, told you it was easy..
Domestly is currently available in Cape Town and Johannesburg, with plans to launch shortly in Pretoria and Durban. Best you get that app downloaded for when the time is right (iOS App Store HERE, Google Play HERE).
In case tech is still somewhat terrifying, and you want someone to hold your hand throughout the whole process then fine, here’s the step-by-step guide in video form:
