An armed-response vehicle was sitting at a four-way stop when both a Golf and a minibus skipped the red/amber lights.
At full speed.
The result? An horrific accident that was caught on the armed-response vehicle’s dashcam.
The accident occurred late last Thursday evening in Church Street, Bronkhorstspruit, 50km east of Pretoria. Jacobus Janse van Rensburg, Operations manager at Golf Echo Response, told News24:
One of our supervisor vehicles was parked at a red light when the incident unfolded.
As you can see in the video, the oncoming Golf sped through the intersection when the traffic light was still red, while the minibus coming from the right was also partly to blame, crossing the intersection when the light was amber.
Three people died on the scene. Emergency services responded quickly after our control room reported the accident.
The minibus belonged to a delivery company and two of its four passengers survived – the driver and the passenger. Van Rensburg continued…
The other two were a couple, who sadly burned to death inside the vehicle. We’re unsure how many people were inside the Golf. One passenger was thrown under the vehicle and declared dead on the scene, although emergency services did attempt to resuscitate him.

Drive safe out there, guys.
