Everyone is well versed in the story of Ryan Lochte by now, so maybe we can just breeze on through this one.

Following his Olympic ‘mare Ryan returned to the U.S., eventually facing up to his critics in an interview with the Today show’s Matt Lauer.

Irreverent late night host Stephen Colbert thought he would have some fun with that, splicing footage from the Today show interview with questions he ‘posed’ in Ryan’s direction.

With sponsors dropping like flies it’s something of a cheap shot, but then again Ryan doesn’t really have a leg to stand on.

Well that’s not really the truth, now is it Ryan?

He has since apologised, both in a statement and the interview with NBC (HERE), but that will do little to counter the public perception that he is a total and utter wanker.
