Generations?
Although that can’t be all that surprising, can it?
The soapie premiered in 1994 and is still a powerful drama that includes all the ingredients a good soapie needs – including the South African twist that makes the local television series all the more lekker.
This announcement was made by the Broadcast Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA), when they released their stats for July 2016.
It showed which local TV shows received the most view during the month. SABC 1 dominated the ratings overall, not only with its 20:00 Generations: The Legacy slot.
So how much would a Generations actor get paid? Well, that depends on their role.
If they are able to secure a senior spot on a television show, they can earn up to R44 000 per month – but that’s according to the rate cards of South African Guild of Actors.
However, a senior actor who is also seasoned can earn up to R60 000 per month. Supporting actors earn between R1 500 to R5 000 per call, while the famous earn up to R6 000 per call.
It is important to note that this is for local production. International film sets in South Africa can pay up to R40 000 per call, depending on your role.

No wonder Charlize got out of here.
