Folks in Hollywood know when they’re on to a good thing, like how these average superhero movies just keep on raking in the cash.
Big sci-fi alien movies also tend to do pretty well – and whilst it’s Independence Day: Resurgence that is grabbing headlines, Arrival looks like it may be worth a watch when it hits cinemas (mid-November in the UK and U.S.).
Starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker, here’s IMDB with a brief overview:
When mysterious spacecraft touch down across the globe, an elite order bactrim team – lead by expert linguist Louise Banks – are brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.
Personally I feel aliens would leave almost immediately after touching down out of disgust, but if they did hang around I suppose we’d need some expert linguists to save the day.
