It didn’t take long for a few more aspects on the Spier murder mystery to come to light.
After Susan Rohde, wife of Jason, CEO of Lew Geffen Sotheby’s International, was found dead in their hotel room, her death was first treated as a suicide.
HERE is the our first look at the story.
But after Captain FC van Wyk said the investigation has changed to a murder after a postmortem was conducted, some suspect information has subsequently been revealed.
Apparently, Susan found out that her husband was having an affair and the couple had had an argument in the bar area the night before she was found dead.
However, according to Jason’s legal representative Daniel Witz, the fight was not about the affair:
The argument was about ending the night and returning to their room to go to sleep … She said everyone had had enough to drink.
After she had told her husband to stop drinking, they retired to their room.
Apparently, Jason raised the alarm the following morning when he was unable to open the bathroom door and a hotel employee managed to help him. The mother of three was reportedly found in the room with the cord of a hair straightener around her neck.
Witz continued:
They [the family] are still in shock and mourning. They are sticking together and supporting each other through this very tragic and difficult period.
Is this yet another instance of domestic violence that ends in bathroom tragedy, or was there perhaps a third party involved?
The mystery continues…
