Daylight Robbery – Rio Has A Hectic Theft Problem [Video]

Petty theft is rife in the Brazilian capital, and it points to a massive socio-economic problem that stems from the political unrest destroying the country.

As with any country hosting an international sporting event such as the Olympics or the Football World Cup, every detail will be picked apart by the media.

Unfortunately for Brazil its political and social climate is an absolute mess, and visitors to its capital for the Summer Games have brought along with it all the negativity.

The international media started with the Zika virus, then turned its focus onto complaints about the Olympic village and the sporting event’s various venues – and now, the city’s extreme petty theft problem has been highlighted in one simple video.

Shot in just one day a few months ago, the video below has resurfaced to point out just how desperate the situation is in Rio, with petty thieves brazenly taking items in broad daylight.

And you thought South Africa was bad.
