It was a rough weekend for the Trumpster, critics on both sides of the political spectrum panning his response to the speech by Khizr and Ghazala Khan.
They would be the parents of Muslim U.S. Army Captain Humayun Khan, killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq, with their address at the DNC leaving Trump reeling.
Good thing someone leaked nude photos of Melania to the press then, because that provided a healthy distraction from the Khans saying Donald had no soul.
This isn’t the first time nude photos of Melania have caused an uproar, with THESE from a GQ shoot back in 2000 recently causing a stir.
One picture was published on the front cover of the New York Post with the headline ‘The Ogle Office’, with more displayed in an exclusive spread. Gawker with some background:
The pictures were taken in Manhattan in 1995 by a French ex-con named Alé de Basseville, shortly after Melania Knauss arrived in America. They appeared in the January 1996 issue of Max, a now-defunct French men’s magazine, and the Trump campaign has made a very big show of being unbothered by the photographs’ publication.
“Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common,” the Republican presidential candidate said in a statement to the Post. “They’re a celebration of the human body as art,” Trump spokesman Jason Miller said in an appearance on CNN on Sunday. “There’s nothing to be embarrassed about,” he continued. (The photos are very classy and tasteful.) “She’s a beautiful woman.”
That she is, and she does have nothing to be embarrassed about – other than her husband. Oh, and the fact that she had her personal website taken down because she lied about her education – a brief rundown from CNN:
The former model’s website had claimed that she received an undergraduate degree in Slovenia. But a biography of the potential first lady’s life, “Melania Trump: The Inside Story,” asserted that Trump gave up schooling after just one year in order to focus on her burgeoning modeling career.
Oh, and the fact that she plagiarised Michelle Obama’s speech during her own address at this year’s Republican National Convention (HERE). But other than those things no, nothing to be embarassed about.
Of course you want to see the photos, so HERE’S a link to the New York Post’s homepage. Don’t worry, it won’t take much clicking around to find what you’re after.
