It’s pretty likely that this year’s Olympic Games are going to be a complete fail. Already Olympians are complaining about the state of their housing, and the host’s political environment isn’t exactly stable.
But, as always, one thing we can be sure about are the few teams who will be dressed to the nines for the Games.
The latest to make fashion news is the collaboration between the Cuban team and king of the shoe industry, Christian Louboutin.
Together with Henry Tai, former professional handball player and founder of French online retail store SportsHenri.com, the pair designed formal attire for the Cuban athletes to wear at the Games’ closing ceremony.
The athletes themselves also got a chance to give their input. According to W24:
The designs include jackets with the national flag patches, leather kitten-heel sandals and high tops with a five-pointed star which are used as an emblem of luck upon the back of each of the athlete’s tops and jackets.
Other teams that have paired up with famous designers houses are:
USA – Polo Ralph Lauren;
Sweden – H&M;
and France – Lacoste
– but none of them are as dashing as Cuba’s:
Pretty sweet, hey?
