Here at 2OV headquarters we were discussing the merits of Big Brother in the office, and soon we were reminiscing about way back when.
It seems that first season, with ‘Waka Waka’ Ferdinand Rabie and Janine ‘The Cucumber Crusher’ Orderson, really did capture the nation’s attention.
That also had quite a bit to do with ‘Bad’ Brad Wood, whose onscreen meltdowns sent ratings soaring through the roof.
That was all fun and games, except in the years since then he’s been living up that name. This from IOL back in 2011:
Former reality TV star Bradford “Bad Brad” Wood [and four others] were tried on four charges of murder and five of attempted murder after a violent gunfight against illegal miners at the Aurora Mine in Benoni last year…
“I’m glad justice has been served, but four people still died,” said Wood after the verdict. “Those people had brothers, mothers… we’re all going to live with this for the rest of our lives.”
Wood, wearing an Evil Eye necklace, said he was moving away from security, after his stint at Aurora Empowerment Systems had left him with a year of legal woes.
Well I don’t know where he’s at these days, but can we just take a moment to enjoy this beaut – Bad Brad’s The Bouncer Song:
