Now that the “Pippa Problem'” is over (for the Royals, that is) we can look forward to another year of endless Pippa-related headlines – and hopefully none of them will have to do with Kate, or Pippa’s own questionable past.
Easily the most famous bridesmaid ever, when her tightly-fitted nether region made headlines during her sister’s Royal wedding, Pippa now has her own wedding to look forward to.
First related piece of news is a glimpse at Pippa’s engagement ring. Here it is:
Although it doesn’t have the same history of that as her sister’s, the ring still holds strong in all its splendour.
An Asscher cut, the ring has a classic design with a definite Art Deco feel, but mixed with an “octagonal halo of sparkling channel-set diamonds”, there’s the perfect balance of modernity.
This is according to Elizabeth Galton, creative director at Mappin & Webb, who continues:
Asscher-cut diamonds are step cut, which means there are fewer facets than other fancy shapes, such as a princess cut for instance. This means the clarity has to be of the very highest quality and close to flawless to show off the stunning structure of the diamond.
If it is a flawless stone then it could be £200,000.
That’s around R3 740 336. Casual.
At least Pippa looks happy:
