Not so breaking news – many people on the internet are idiots, and they love to kick up a stink about absolutely nothing.

Case in point Victoria Beckham kissing her daughter on the lips. That would be Harper, the five-year-old, and it’s enough to make you want to stay offline for a while and go play in the street.

Commenters attacked the fashion designer for the innocent photo, writing things like, “Eww sorry I’m old fashioned it looks like they [are] making out,” “totally wrong” and “That’s one passionate kiss right there … Hope she gets so passionate with @davidbeckham.” Social etiquette expert Liz Brewer [said] that she found the photo “uncomfortable.”

“Normally with a member of your family you don’t kiss on the lips unless it’s your husband,” Brewer said. “With children, I wouldn’t have thought it’s a particularly good habit to get into but it’s her child and she’s at liberty to do what she thinks is best.”

First the internet polices women’s bodies, now it’s telling them how a loving mother should show affection to her children.

Thanks 2016, this combined with Pokemon Go (and all those musicians dying) means you better raise your game.
