Cape Town, you absolute beauty.
For those of us lucky enough to call this place home, it’s handy to know if you ever need to make a little more cash, all you have to do is go into the tourism industry.
The Western Cape has come in as, surprise, the most expensive place to go on holiday in South Africa. Coming in at R7 365 spent on accommodation, it’s seconded by KZN at R5 076 and then in third place is Gauteng at only R2 323.
Please note: this data is related to how long a stay is in each place, and we all know that Gauteng is dominated by shorter business trips.
On a localised scale, Plett is the most expensive holiday town, with accommodation sitting at around R12 524 per stay.
The coastal region of Southbroom in KZN is around R8 524 per stay, and only then does Cape Town come in at an average of R7 922 – but dominates the suburbs battle in the second table below.
