The New York City Ballet (NYCB) is what thousands of little girls’ dreams are made of.
To be a ballerina is kind of like being a princess, and getting to dance with the famed U.S. company is as good as getting to live in a castle.
In an effort to be a part of these dreams, PUMA has extended their activewear into the ballerina’s off-stage realm. As official sponsors of NYCB, it further strengthens PUMA’s effort to expand its women’s training category and support the arts.
This is a synergy that brings together two organisations that share the common pursuit of being the fastest, strongest, and best in their craft.
As from October, the initiative will explore ways for PUMA to support a variety of NYCB initiatives, including their education, audience development, and dancer health and wellness efforts.
Of course, both institutions are proud of the partnership, with Adam Petrick, Global Brand & Marketing Director for PUMA, saying:
We are proud to partner with such a prestigious and iconic institution as New York City Ballet. The company’s elite roster of ballerinas displays the utmost discipline and skill, and truly represent the attributes of the PUMA Woman – brave, confident, determined and joyful. This alliance helps reinforce PUMA’s aim to expand our women’s business into exciting and inspirational territories.
NYCB’s Executive Director, Katherine Brown, also shared her thoughts:
New York City Ballet is extraordinarily grateful to PUMA for its support, and we are very excited about the opportunities that this new relationship will provide. In addition to being extraordinarily talented artists, the dancers of the New York City Ballet are also some of the most highly-trained athletes in the world, especially renowned for their speed and agility, making a partnership between NYCB and PUMA, one of the most iconic sports brands in the world, a perfect fit.
Who would have thought a New York ballerina would be wearing PUMA as an official sponsor?
It’s a far cry from Rihanna’s fantasy world, after all, but we’re still digging this vibe.
