It’s only official when America says it is, right?
Completely. The latest breed of dog to enter the American Kennel Club’s book is a Pumi. No doubt, the furry pooch is a miniature poodle look alike, but it’s still cute as hell – and really clever, too.
Hailing from Hungary, the Pumi – yes, that’s what it’s called – has long served as a herding dog. They are intelligent, quick learners and have a human-based club called the Hungarian Pumi Club of America.
With a typical lifespan of 13-15 years, the Pumi has high energy levels and enjoys a wide range of activities. While they have been living in the States for a while, only now is the country officially recognising them.
This means they are eligible to compete in the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and other competitions – purebred registry for the win!
Fallen in love? We thought so.
While you might be hesitant to get a dog because of your working hours, you really can have the best of both worlds. Drop your pooch off at Proud Hounds for the day, and he or she will be treated with just as much love when they’re with you.
