You see, for years, all we (in the deep south) were privy to was pizza when it concerned what we could get delivered to our doorstep. What made it worse was that I had dabbled in the southern suburbs social scene while growing up, and returning to the sleepy valley was a struggle.
What do you offer your too-cool-for-school friends for dinner when the parents are away?
It was also unbearable for the adults too. I mean, just think about the weather today. You arrive home after a long week of work (kidding, I know it’s only Wednesday), get all warm and cozy by the fire, and BAM you realise there’s nothing to eat.
Pizza has been done to death, so it’s either making a toastie or getting redressed to get some dinner.
It truly is an awful first-world problem.
