Tim Maake was an ANC municipal manager, but he got fired. Life then got a little worse for him over the weekend, his BMW X5 totalled after he collided with an elephant along the Mica-Hoedspruit road in Limpopo.

Maake was fired from the municipality earlier this year after a disciplinary committee found him guilty of 18 charges‚ including gross negligence‚ gross misconduct‚ gross dereliction of duties and gross dishonesty emanating from the contravention of several sections of the Municipal Finance Management Act and Municipal Supply Chain Management Act.
Sighting of elephants in the area are increasing since the drought has forced them to leave nearby game reserves in a search for food and water – and because there are too many of them.
Or are there too many people?
