The Trailer For FIFA 17 Shows Massive Changes To The Iconic Game [Video]

Over the years the FIFA series has become the (almost) undisputed king of sports games, but now they're shaking things up with their latest release.

Even if you’re not a football fan you’ve probably come across a game or two of FIFA in your life, a few mates with controllers in hand tapping away and shouting about how their players aren’t following instructions.

There are few bigger fight starters than a last minute winner either, I’ve seen close tjommies almost come to blows over a 90th minute net rippler.

This time around, though, the game seems keen to focus on the journey a footballer takes from nobody to superstar.

It isn’t hard to see that they’ve taken some inspiration from a certain Marcus Rashford in this trailer below, the Manchester United youngster catapulting himself into the English Euro 2016 squad with a number of eye-catching performances.

Mashable with a little more:

As you can see in the trailer, this is more than just text on a screen; there are character-driven cutscenes that seem to angle for real drama.

In addition to The Journey, FIFA 17 also features the expected assortment of mechanical enhancements, along with another completely new addition: actual team managers. In a first for the series, the managers of all the teams are rendered in the game.

How their presence affects the experience remains to be seen, but between this and The Journey, it seems like EA is intent on injecting FIFA 17 with more personality.

As long as they make a game that keeps stoners glued to the screen I’m sure they’ll do just fine.
