Food trucks are SO last season. That is why there is no limit to the amount of high-fives we will give this local company that thought out the box and turned a tuk-tuk into a slice of heaven.
Remember seeing those ice-cream trucks that play cheesy music and drive around neighbourhoods in movies? We never had them in South Africa (except in Belhar, apparently – lucky!) – which is a damn shame – but we sure are making up for it now. These guys have gone one better and are driving around serving champagne and playing French music.
According to their website:
Pop! is a mobile bubbly bar tuk-tuk that can be hired for weddings, private parties and corporate events.
Our cute and quirky tuk-tuk is fully equipped to serve all things ‘Champagne’; from bubbly by the glass to ‘Champagne’ sorbet and more.We believe in providing the best service at your event and our promise is to impress your guests by adding a fun & festive element to your day.
The POP! Mobile Bubbly Bar is a fully customised tuk tuk, which has been built to serve as a complete mobile bar, with fitted glass racks, built in ice buckets, a service counter and uses a small amount of power. We supply glasses, which can be branded with your logo or even the names of the bride & groom.
We pour local top quality Methode Cap Classique, and serve a funky bubbly cocktail.
Perfect for a summer splash! Our signature ‘Champagne’ sorbet is the perfect dessert to finish off an event.
You had me at “bubbly.”
And “mobile.”
And “tuk-tuk.”
This is such a brilliant concept and I have no doubt it will be a runaway success. If you are even thinking of making use of this outrageously awesome service, best you get in touch with them urgently. They’re already taking bookings on their website.
Go, go, go!
PS. They’ll be at the Wedding Expo this weekend 😉
