Meryl Streep is one of the most decorated actresses of all time, so why wouldn’t she take a stab at playing one of the most decorated assholes of all time?
She took her run at the Donald on Monday night, entertaining fans at the Public Theatre Gala in New York City during a benefit performance.
The Guardian think she did a good job of it:
…Streep’s Trump was “more than credible … down to the pursed lips and low-hanging belly”: “She got the braggadocio-inflected voice, too, even while singing.”

Streep issued a statement to the New York Times through a Public Theater spokeswoman on Tuesday afternoon: “I appreciate the interest, but this was a one-off, a once in a (last in a) lifetime appearance of this character.”
