We know South Africans have been on high alert after all the terror threats we’ve been hearing about, but now it seems there’s trouble brewing at the Western Cape High Court too.
The building received a bomb threat at around 9:45 this morning, at which point the court was evacuated and police cordoned off the surrounding roads.
More from TimesLive:
Police barricaded roads leading to the court precinct and were using sniffer dogs to comb the area for explosives.
Court officials and lawyers scrambled out of the building and gathered in Long Street in the city’s central business district.
Some were chatting while others were glued to their cellphones – typing and phoning.
