There’s no doubt about it, some people are just too addicted to their phones. I like to call them the Kylie Jenners of this world. Either they are talking to someone, mindlessly scrolling, or checking themselves out with the selfie camera.
Now there’s a way to take your phone with you to the afterlife, kind of (don’t the Egyptian tombs already prove that precious items don’t transcend the human world?).
So this dude, Pavel Kayuk, and his company Autograph recently attempted to make that depressing fantasy possible for those who probably don’t even know that Egyptians existed. A Siberian artist, Kayuk built a tombstone in the shape of an iPhone – yes, an iPhone – and created something known as “the iTombstone.”
People are calling it the hottest and latest death accessory. I’m not sure what’s worse, this or those funeral selfies.
Kayuk displayed these tombstones at a funeral exhibition. Only in Siberia would funeral exhibitions be such riveting cultural powerhouses.
The monuments, created with laser engravings, were initially made just to “attract attention,” but the demand for the iTombstones quickly grew.
They now retail at around $1000.
