Last night was a goody for 90 2ov readers in Cape Town and 65 in Jozi, you loyal folk enjoying a free preview screening with popcorn and a soft drink (sorry, it was a school night after all).
Reviews were great, Julia Roberts and George Clooney teaming up for a rollercoaster ride that went down well with our audience.
Fear not those who missed out, because today the movie opens nationwide on Ster-Kinekor screens in conjunction with Sony Movies SA.
If you’re not clued up on what all the fuss is about here’s a brief write-up:
looney plays Lee Gates, a Wall Street guru turned TV presenter who hosts the TV show ‘Money Monster’ under the watchful eye of producer Patty Fenn (Roberts). It’s during a live show that a recently bankrupt viewer, who lost everything when he put all his money on one of Gates ‘tips’, storms the building, straps a bomb-vest to Gates and starts demanding answers as to why the company folded. Whilst the world watches the drama unfolds on screen, it’s up to Gates and Fenn to try and figure out what went wrong with the company before he makes his last appearance on television.
The trailer then:
When the demons strike this weekend, and you can’t bear to watch Carte Blanche declare the weekend over, you should head to the movies and give this one a bash.
