Amy Schumer is having herself a jolly old time in Hollywood, her career going from strength to strength in the wake of her successful TV show.
One of her trump cards is the ability to laugh off criticism, which comes in handy when you consider how many hateful trolls out there constantly feel the need to hurl abuse her way.
Take for example this shoot below from back in 2015, when she stripped down for Annie Leibovitz’s Pirelli Calendar.
Her sense of humour evident from the Instagram caption she used:
Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman.
She weathered that storm, mostly by telling the haters to go and shove it, and then yesterday she tweeted this picture out for National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
Why wear orange? Over to the Daily Beast:
Wear Orange got its start in the South Side of Chicago, where 15-year-old high schooler Hadiya Pendleton was shot and killed on January 29, 2013. In the wake of her senseless death, Pendleton’s classmates and friends banded together and decided to wear orange. The colour, reminiscent of the anti-camouflage gear that hunters wear in the woods to avoid gunfire and warn others, is a symbol both of mourning and of increased awareness.
Hey, if you gotta get naked to raise awareness for a good cause then who am I to stop you?
